Let's talk exfoliation...

As I write this, I'm sat on my bed with a Hawaiian flower garland around my neck, sipping water out of one of the three wine glasses I bought today (because every trip to Asda should result in a girl coming home with wine glasses if you ask me) literally stroking my skin... I promise it's not as weird as it might seem.

Let me take you back a few hours...
I woke up this morning and my skin was beyond dry and in need of some general TLC which quite frankly, I had no time to give it.
But this afternoon in the shower (my routine is somewhat obscure when it comes to showering or doing normal things that people do) I was using my normal exfoliators and scrubs and what not and noticed just how incredible they actually are and just thought 'You know what? The world needs to hear what I have to say about this'.
Obviously, that doesn't explain the flower garland or the water in a wine glass but it's a start!

Face and body scrubs have always scared me a little bit because I have sensitive skin and to me, it was never something I thought could work for me... but I was so wrong - it's all about finding what suits your skin type Kirsten, duh! Now, it's a really important part of my skincare regime if I want skin that looks... alive!

For my face, I turn to the Sanctuary Brightening Facial Radiance Exfoliator. Seeing the words 'brightening' and 'radiance' is always a winner for those of us with dry skin which can often look dull and lifeless.

This contains 'ultra-fine apricot granules and grapeseed' to exfoliate and 'pumpkin, pineapple and papaya' to increase cell renewal.

What I love about this is that while the granules themselves are quite large, they're not harsh or too abrasive at all and it's not jam-packed full of them either so it's smooth rather than being too rough.
I'm not overly keen on the scent of it - it's not fruity like I'd expected it to be, it's definitely more of a herbal scent.
However, it makes my skin SO DAMN SMOOTH so I can get over the smell.
Because it's so gentle on the skin, Sanctuary advise using it 2-3 times a week, which is great because I can use it whenever I need it and not worry about it damaging my skin.

For my body, there really isn't any other option than Soap & Glory's The Scrub Of Your Life, is there?!

Again, the actual scrubby bits in this aren't too rough but they're just enough to get at any unwanted dry skin and take them away.

This scrub foams up, which is unlike any other that I've used before so it's almost like a shower gel too!
It smells like sweet lime - an obvious winner, and it polishes my skin beautifully.
I've just started to experiment with fake tan, so while it was something I'd use on a regular basis anyway it's really important for me now and for someone with dry skin to not have any 'patchy bits' after tanning is quite a big deal I think!
Ugh, will Soap&Glory ever disappoint?!

So, there's the nitty-gritty of my exfoliation!

What's your favourite scrub?

Thanks for reading,
Kirsten x
